September 15, 2017 in the Marriott Hotel in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, the XIth Assembly of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was held.
Over 60 delegates from affiliated organizations of the Congress, as well as more than 150 invited persons – representatives of public, intergovernmental and international organizations, businessmen and scientists, diplomats and journalists took part in the event. Represented 25 business associations from 22 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Latvian and Lithuanian Republics, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Estonia.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus – Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic – Yury Chebotar, Deputy Minister of Industry -Alexander Ogorodnikov took part in the work of the ICIE Assembly.
The Assembly was opened by the Chairman of the Council of the International Congress Vasile Tarlev. He welcomed the audience on behalf of the leadership and the ICIE Council and emphasized that the holding of the main statutory event of the Congress in Minsk is very symbolic, since it was 25 years ago in this city the first meeting of the Council of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was held. He thanked the Chairman of the Belarusian Republican Association of Industrial Enterprises Anatoliy Kharlap and the Chairman of the Republican public Association “Belarusian Scientific and Industrial Association” Alexander Shvets for the initiative to hold a meeting in the Republic of Belarus, the high level of the organization of the Assembly and all accompanying events, for the warm welcome and hospitality.
Vasile Tarlev informed the audience about the meeting of the leadership of the International Congress with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Vladimirovich Kobyakov, which took place the same morning. During the visit, there was an exchange of views on further constructive cooperation with colleagues from Belarus in the framework of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Semashko made a welcoming speech from the Government of Belarus at the meeting of the Assembly.
The Assembly was led by the ICIE Honorary President Victor Gloukhikh, unanimously elected Chairman of the meeting.
A word for the Report of the Council of Congress on the work for the period from 2013 to 2017 was provided to the ICIE Chairman of the Council Vasile Tarlev, who told about the main results of the organization’s activities and its long-term plans.
The work of the ICIE Control Commission for the period after the X Assembly was reported by its Chairman – Valery Shashkov.
Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic – Yury Chebotar told about the state of economic relations of Belarus with the partner countries, measures and proposals for their activation with a view to comprehensive development of the country, participation in this business organizations.
After it was speech of Acting President of the Congress Artem Chaika – “On the strategy of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the further development of cooperation of business circles represented in the ICIE, strengthening of the interaction of the Congress with international, regional and partner organizations”. Fresh ideas, thoughts, suggestions on updating the activities of the Congress, enhancing the effectiveness of its work, enlisting the authoritative structures in the ranks of the ICIE were sounded in it.
Based on the results of the reports, a discussion took place. Leaders of national associations, representatives of partner organizations and activists of the Congress were given the opportunity to share views and suggestions on the situation in the ICIE, as well as the possible course of further movement. In the discussion took part: Kharlap A.D. – Chairman of the Belarusian Republican Association of Industrial Enterprises “BelAPP”; Kinakh A.K. – President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Baikenov K.K. – Chairman of the Board of the Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Kazakhstan; R. Ptok – Head of the International Department of the Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of Germany (BVMW); Kuzmin D.V. – Executive Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Li Sung Yong – Professor of National Changwon University, President of the Far East Future Economic Forum, Republic of Korea; Ageev A.I. – Director General of the Institute of Economic Strategies; Gadzhiev A. – Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation; Sagynbaev J. – President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Presidium of the EAEC Business Council; Gavrilov V.S. – President of the Confederation of Employers of Latvia; Milonas G. – Honorary President of the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece; Meladze E.R. – President of the Association of Employers of Georgia; Krasovsky V.M. – General Director of the Mogilev Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
After the discussion, a number of decisions were made, including the report of the Council and the ICIE Control Commission, as well as the renewed strategy of the Congress.
In the elective part of the Assembly, new structure of the ICIE governing bodies was formed: the Council and the Control Commission of the Congress.
Unanimously, Artem Chaika was approved as the President of the Congress.
