Meeting of the Council of the International Congress of Industrialists and entrepreneurs, May 19, Thessaloniki, Greek Republic

The Meeting was opened and hold by Vasily Tarlev, Chairman of the Council of the Congress, President of the National Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova. This event was attended by over 70 members of the Council, representatives of national business associations from 17 states and invited guests.

First of all, the Council considered the issue of the adoption of a number of organizations in the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The unanimous decision of the ICIE members with the receipt of the official certificate were:

– Russian Joint Stock Company  «United Geological Survey Company». (Chairman of the Board of Directors – Pak Petr, www.ogkgroup.ru).

 «SP VIS-MOS» Ltd., (CEO – Yarosh Ruslanwww.vis-mos.ru).

– Business Association «The Union of Small and Medium Business in Bulgaria».(Executive Director – Plamen Grozdanov).

– Company group «BAIKALSEA Co.». (CEO – Kokovin Ruslanwww.irkvoda.ru).

– «Sberbank Capital» Ltd., (CEO – Khachaturyanc Ashot, www.sbrf-capital.ru ).

 Joint-stock company «DAR/VODGEO», (CEO – Leonova Elena, www.darvodgeo.ru ).

The Council recommended to the vice-presidents, chairmen of the Committees and ICIE commissions, the Congress staff assist new members of the Congress in their activities, establish and develop business contacts with associations of industrialists and entrepreneurs, members of the Congress, as well as engage in the implementation of mutually beneficial business projects and programs.

At the meeting of the Council a block of organizational and personnel decisionswas adopted.

In accordance with the application, the Council granted the request of the ICIE  President Viktor Glukhikh and relieved him of his post. Members of the Council noted the great contribution of  V.Glukhikh in strengthening the authority and influence of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the world arena and in strengthening international economic cooperation in general. With his personal active participation, large-scale transformations of the Congress were carried out, its activities in many areas were strengthened, the zone of influence and the membership base of the organization were significantly expanded, systemic relationships were established with authorities of the states represented in ICIE, partner organizations and authoritative international structures
The Council of Congress decided to establish the position of  the ICIE Honorary President.

Honorary President of the Congress was unanimously elected Viktor Glukhikh.

In his turn, Viktor Glukhikh thanked the participants for their support and spoke on behalf of the Presidium of the Council of Congress with an initiative proposal to elect a new head of the organization – the President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. In accordance with the current ICIE Statute, the Council of the Congress gives the elected candidate the authority of the Acting President for the period up to the forthcoming Assembly. The vice-president of the International Congress-Artyom Chaika was proposed to this post. The unanimous decision A. Chaika was elected the Acting President of the ICIE.

By a separate decision A. Chaika incorporated into the Presidium of the Council of Congress.

Also, Council of Congress took a decision on the convening of another report-electoral ICIE Assembly in September 2017. Vice-president of the Congress Vyacheslav Pshenichnikov spoke about the substantive and organizational preparation of the forthcoming event.

He emphasized that the Assembly should “build, formulate the development paradigm of the Congress for the medium and long term perspective on the basis of an analysis of economic and socio-political tendencies in the world community “and translate it into a new Concept of the ICIE, which will be aimed at improving the effectiveness of the organization. In addition, he told about number of practical steps that need to be implemented for the upcoming Assembly – a substantive, organizational, financial and economic plan. On behalf of the leadership of the Congress, V. Pshenichnikov asked the participants of the Council to submit their proposals to the concept of the development of the Congress.

The central substantive theme of the Council’s meeting was the strengthening of interaction between business associations of the countries of the European and Eurasian Unions in modern conditions and the role of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in this process. The Executive President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Alexander Murychev, made a report on this item.

He emphasized that the RSPP attaches great importance to the development of international cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally and successfully cooperates with both the Eurasian Economic Union and the Association of European Businesses. He noted that “the EEU and the EU have all the opportunities to intensify cooperation between the two integration associations, given that political differences and mutual sanctions have not stopped business cooperation.” For the development and strengthening of relations between the two Eurasian and European unions, the activities of international associations, including the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, are important, which is already a platform for the promotion and development of economic ties between the countries of the Eurasian subcontinent.

Leaders of the national associations and representatives of ICIE took part in the discussion of the issue: vice-president Yuri Vinogradov, vice-president, member of the Board of the Association of Large Entrepreneurs of Estonia Tiit Vahi, President of the Association of Employers of Georgia Elgudja Meladze, Chairman of the Committee of the ICIE on agro-industrial complex Olga Esaulova, President of the Union of Industrialists, Businessmen and entrepreneurs of Macedonia Sashko Staninov.

The next issue on the agenda was a proposal on the organization of the Eurasian Economic Forum “Industrial, financial, scientific and technical cooperation in the space of Greater Eurasia. From regional to global”, initiated by the ICIE leadership and the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece, led by President – Athanasios Savvakis.

The proposal was made by the Acting President of the International Congress
A. Chaika, in support of the idea A.Savvakis and the President of the Greco-Eurasian Business Council, Spiridon Kovelis, spoke.

After discussion, the Council decided to support the proposal and form a working group for further conducting relevant negotiations and preparing a plan of practical measures for organizing the relevant forum.

On the final issue of the agenda – the termination of membership of a number of organizations – was made by the vice-president, the head of the ICIE staff, the executive secretary of the Council of Congress Valery Kazyulin. In connection with the loss of relations with the ICIE and the prolonged failure to comply with the statutory requirements, it was unanimously decided to terminate the membership of several organizations in the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

On the final issue of the agenda – the termination of membership of a number of organizations – was made by the vice-president, the head of the ICIE staff, the executive secretary of the Council of Congress Valery Kazyulin. In connection with the loss of relations with the ICIE and the prolonged failure to comply with the statutory requirements, it was unanimously decided to terminate the membership of several organizations in the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
