ICIE President Artem Chayka opens Russia-China Forum on trade, economic and culture cooperation

Beijing, 11 December 2018

The President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE, the Congress), Artem Chayka, opened the Russia-China Forum on trade, economic and culture cooperation.

This event is being held with the aim of fostering cooperation in the context of integrating the One Belt, One Road initiative and the development of business collaboration between China and Russia.

Politicians, public figures, businessmen and experts from Russia and China are taking part in the forum.

On opening the forum, the ICIE President Artem Chayka emphasized that a political foundation for the relations between China and Russia was being laid on that day, and that it was now crucial for businesses and business circles to enhance these relations with new feasible joint projects.

“Neither improvements in domestic economies nor breakthroughs in the Russia-China business partnership are possible without active involvement of entrepreneurial circles of both nations. We will lend informal support to such processes and engage more representatives of business communities of other nations that are ICIE members. Practical support to joint projects and initiatives will be provided by our Representative Office in the Asia-Pacific region, which was established in Vladivostok, and also the Coordination Council of the Cooperation with business associations of Asia,” stated Artem Chayka.

The forum schedule includes panel discussions about key issues facing the Russia-China cooperation on trade.

The ICIE President Artem Chayka participated in the forum during his working visit to China. So far, the ICIE President has already had a meeting with business communities from PRC, and taken part in a discussion on expanding the range of joint projects, attracting investments and developing digital technologies. In addition, a ceremony to mark the opening of a trade show pavilion featuring Russian products in China has taken place.

An event that stood out during the visit was the interview with the China Central Television, the channel CCTV.
